Why We Love Winter

Why winter isn’t that bad after all

Hi everyone,

I know that most of you will disagree with me… But, I actually love winter! Since winter is officially here, I thought it would be a good time to tell you why. So, here are just a few reasons why winter is one of my favourite seasons…

Winter Clothing

In Rome especially, we spend at least 8 months of the year in summer clothes, so when the cold finally comes it’s nice to pull out the winter clothing from the back of the closet! Winter is a time for jackets and coats, hats and beanies, gloves and mittens, scarfs, and boots! It’s the time of year where you can be more creative and diverse with your clothing choices. It’s a time to layer, layer, layer!

Warm Drinks

When the weather is cold outside, there is nothing more comforting than a warm cup of tea, hot chocolate, or (if you are old enough), some mulled wine! These drinks are almost impossible to enjoy when the weather is warm, so get your fix now before spring is upon us!

Winter Food

Just like drinks, there are some foods so well suited to cold weather. Making soup in winter is one of my favourite activities. In fact, I eat so much soup in this season I’m practically made up of vegetables now! There are so many different types of soup; it’s difficult to get bored. If you’re not a fan of soup why not try some winter stews or curries to warm you up?

So instead of dreading the cold this winter, just put on your best winter coat and hat and be thankful for the wonderful things that winter can offer.

Stay Warm!
